Good news! The Medicaid rules in Virginia have changed. As of January 1, 2019, more people are eligible for low-cost or no-cost health coverage. Are you one of them?
More Virginia residents between the ages of 19 and 64 now qualify for Medicaid.

The Inova Health Access Program provides FREE assistance with the Medicaid application and enrollment process. Trained staff will meet with you in person or by phone. We can also connect you to other safety net services in the community.
The state of Virginia also offers resources for Medicaid questions and application information, to help Virginia residents get the health care they need.

APPLY BY PHONE: Call toll-free 1-855-242-8282 (TDD 1-888-221-1590). Hours: Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday, 9 a.m. to noon.
APPLY BY MAIL: Download the application (English application / Spanish application) and mail it to your local Department of Social Services. Find the correct address here. (Note: sending an application by mail takes longer than other methods.)

Inova Health Advantage is a new primary care service exclusively for Medicaid patients. The Alexandria clinic is now open and accepting new patients. Hours are Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Alexandria clinic is located near the intersection of King Street and Beauregard Street, in the Skyline neighborhood.
