77th Annual Ladies Board Rummage Sale Sets Record
Leesburg, VA – October 20, 2015 – The Ladies Board of Inova Loudoun Hospital is pleased to report the 77th Annual Ladies Board Rummage Sale was a record year. Approximately 500 volunteers helped to unload and organize the equivalent of 15 tractor-trailer loads of donated treasures. The Sale grossed in excess of $256,000 with more than 10,000 shoppers attending the Saturday-Sunday event at Morven Park Equestrian Center. Net proceeds benefit Inova Loudoun Hospital and Ladies Board nursing scholarships.
“We are indebted to the Loudoun community for the strong support for the Sale,” said Lisa Cromwell, chairman of the Rummage Sale. “The donations were really exceptional and ran the gamut with everything from kayaks to Limoge china and antique grandfather clocks as well as more traditional items such as clothing for every family member including the dog.” Shoppers came from multiple states, many for the first time, showing the wide appeal for this special fund raising event.
Nearly 100 of the volunteers this year were new, and Cromwell cites this as evidence that Loudoun is generous in both donations and time. “This is truly a partnership with the community. We want to express our deepest appreciation to everyone who took part in the Sale.”
