Inova Loudoun Hospital Announces Ashburn HealthPlex

Facility to provide emergency services and physician offices

Leesburg, VA – (October 4, 2011) – Inova Loudoun Hospital announced today it is under contract to purchase property to build a 24-hour full service Emergency Department, diagnostic imaging center and physician offices in the Ashburn community, accessible from the Loudoun County Parkway.  This HealthPlex is designed to support the local community by offering essential health care services closer to home.

“The community has enjoyed expanded services and access not only at our two campus locations at Lansdowne and Leesburg, but in Purcellville, Dulles South and very soon Lovettsville.  Establishing a HealthPlex in Ashburn underscores our commitment to providing the community equal access to essential health care services while doing so within the twenty-minute driving time window as prescribed by the County’s Health Care Facilities Plan.”

Positioned at the Dulles Greenway and Loudoun County Parkway, the proposed Ashburn HealthPlex will be located on approximately 8 acres of land.  The first phase anticipates approximately 50,000 square feet of developed space and represents a planned investment of $31million by Inova Health System.

The project will create construction and new healthcare jobs while providing not only primary health care services to residents but strategically positioning a health care facility to meet the needs of the citizens of Loudoun County. Future plans anticipate 75,000 additional square feet of space for physician offices and other healthcare uses. Permit applications are anticipated to be filed with Loudoun County later this fall.
