ALEXANDRIA, VA – (January 8, 2013) – Christine M. Candio, RN, FACHE, CEO, Inova Alexandria Hospital, and senior vice president, Inova Health System, has been nominated as the 2013–2014 Chairman-Elect of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), an international professional society of more than 40,000 healthcare executives.
ACHE will conduct its election during its 56th Congress on Healthcare Leadership from March 11-14 in Chicago. Upon election, Candio would serve a three-year term that starts with a year as chairman-elect, another as chairman and the final year as immediate-past chairwoman.
Board certified in healthcare management as an ACHE Fellow, Candio has served as an ACHE Governor since 2010. She also served as president of ACHE of Massachusetts, an ACHE Chapter, from 2004 to 2007. In addition, she served as a member of ACHE’s Chapters Committee from 2006 to 2008 and as Chapters Committee Chair from 2008 to 2009. Christine has served as CEO of Inova Alexandria Hospital since February 2008.
Candio’s accomplishments over the years include an array of multi-million dollar new program development projects, program enhancements, system improvements resulting in new revenue generation, as well as improved customer/patient satisfaction.
