What’s Going on Inside Your Head?
Inova Recognizes National Stroke Month with MEGAbrain at Tysons Corner Center
Falls Church, VA – (May 15, 2013) – Have you ever wondered what is going on inside your head? If so, the Inova Neuroscience Institute invites you to see the brain from the inside out on Saturday, May 18 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Tysons Corner Center in Fashion Court (between Bloomingdales and Nordstrom on the ground floor).
Attendees will have the opportunity to walk through, MEGAbrain, a 20-foot inflatable brain. The brain includes healthy tissue, brain trauma, a concussion, Alzheimer’s disease, a brain tumor, an aneurysm and a stroke. Physicians, nurse navigators and neuroscience nurses will be on-site to explain the parts of the brain and how different diseases and trauma impact it.
This is a fun, FREE, day for the whole family. In addition to MEGAbrain, the program will feature Cindy Chambers, author of the Beamer Book Series, and information on stroke, concussion and other brain disorders. In recognition of stroke month, Inova will offer FREE stroke screenings and mini-consultations with a dietitian.
