Falls Church, VA – Inova is pleased to announce the appointment of Matthew Kull as its new Chief Information and Digital Officer (CIDO). Matt will officially join the health system on August 7.
As CIDO, Matt will play a pivotal role in developing Inova’s overall technology strategy and will be responsible for driving digital health innovation and improved care delivery through IT to Inova’s patients, team members and the community. Matt will oversee a team responsible for all IT services including applications, program management, data, security, technical infrastructure, clinical engineering and support services.

Most recently, Matt served as Chief Information Officer for Cleveland Clinic where, for the past five years, he had global responsibility for digital and technology functions across the Clinic’s 200 sites and 75,000+ employees. Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic in 2018, he held the role of Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer for Dallas-based Parkland Hospital, where he led technology during the construction of one of the most technologically advanced hospitals in the country. Matt has also held senior-level IT roles at AmerisouceBergen – US Bioservices, Lucidity Consulting Group, McKesson and NTT-Verio.
Matt holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Edwin L. Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University and is a Certified Healthcare Chief Information Officer (CHCIO). He was named the 2022 Ohio CIO of the Year by Inspire CIO and also 2017 CIO of the Year by both DallasCIO and D CEO Magazine.
