Inova Names Rick Talento Chief Financial Officer
Fairfax, VA — November 20, 2024 — Inova is pleased to announce that Rick Talento, CPA, has been named Chief Financial Officer. Having served in this role in an acting capacity since March 2024, Talento will continue to be responsible for system financial operations including financial reporting, revenue cycle operations, managed care contracting, treasurer and investment management. He will also be responsible for planning and forecasting.
A seasoned and trusted finance executive with 35 years of professional experience — 25 in healthcare — Talento first joined Inova as Corporate Controller in the mid-1990s. After 10 years, Talento left Inova to gain experience in the private equity sector, where he was involved in two large sales transactions. He then went on to become a hospital SVP/CFO at Ascension Health.
“We are thrilled to have Rick assume the role of Chief Financial Officer,” said J. Stephen Jones, MD, President and CEO, Inova. “Rick brings not only a wealth of experience and a proven track record of strategic financial leadership but also a deep institutional knowledge of Inova’s financial operations. His long-standing familiarity with our organization, combined with his expertise, will be instrumental as we continue to strengthen our financial stewardship and advance our mission.”
Talento rejoined Inova in 2013 and has held numerous leadership positions across the system, including VP of Finance for Inova Mount Vernon Hospital, Inova Alexandria Hospital and Inova Fairfax Hospital. Prior to being named Acting CFO earlier this year, Talento led finance for all of Inova’s acute hospitals and service lines.
“I am honored to be named Chief Financial Officer of Inova,” said Talento. “This is an exciting time to be part of an organization that is deeply committed to excellence in patient care, innovation, and community impact. Having worked closely with Inova’s financial operations over the years, I look forward to building on that foundation and collaborating with our talented team to ensure Inova continues to deliver on its mission while achieving financial strength and sustainability.”
A native of Maryland, Talento holds a BS in Accounting from the University of Maryland and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
